Ceramic artist Leslie Freeman is always on the go – and that’s just the way she likes it. A Vineyard Haven potter for almost twenty years, her online store, Leslie Freeman Designs, sells an impressively wide array of stoneware products to an ever-growing clientele. “I work the job of three people,” she said recently. “I’ve always been that kind of person who likes to keep busy.”

Freeman credits her success to offering full dinnerware sets for purchase – a feat, she said, many potters won’t even venture into. A scroll through her Etsy page also reveals handcrafted mugs, pie plates, and serving bowls. Glazes in earthy tones to everyday pops of color add refinement to Freeman’s work. “I’m a complete color freak,” she said with an easy laugh. “Pottery is an endless world. I like challenging myself…finding new surface designs…making big pieces.”

Which is to say, you never know what will come out of her kiln next.
