Martha’s Vineyard’s 100 square miles of land boasts some 17,000 housing units – a tiny fraction of which are on the waterfront. The 704-square-foot, two-bedroom, one-bathroom bungalow is located on a strip of land that separates Vineyard Sound from Lake Tashmoo. The home was built in 1950, and its interior was updated in 2014. For the past fifty years, the deed has stated that the home is situated on “0.42 acres of land more or less.” Whether that number will hold steady for the next fifty years, only time and tide will tell.
