If You Had $2,000,000…

A quirky octagonal home sits hidden in the woods of West Tisbury.

In 1985, landscape architect Geoff Gibson built a funky octagonal house for his family. It’s the type of quirky, nontraditional structure that would command attention if it appeared along a major road. Alas, it’s located down a long, winding dirt road in West Tisbury where it remained hidden from view until it was put on the market this spring.

The property was snapped up for $2,000,000 by Ben Taylor, son of James Taylor and Carly Simon, who grew up on the neighboring property. The home features 3,636 square feet of living space, five bedrooms, three bathrooms, and intricate details, such as exposed wood beams, hand-carved doors, and a circular stone fireplace. Here’s hoping Taylor will retain the unique character found within the eight angled walls.
