One of the most scenic roads on the Island, with stone walls and stunning views across farmland to the distant Atlantic Ocean, Middle Road is favored by fine art photographers and Sunday drivers, and is carefully protected by the town. Buses and large commercial vehicles are prohibited. The Yard, a summer dance colony, is situated off Middle Road near Beetlebung Corner, the Chilmark town center.
